first_imgWHEN the dust settled over the weekend at the Port Mourant Turf Club, two horses stole the show with fantastic performances to provide the perfect ending to the Triple Crown horse race meet.Both animals of the Jumbo Jet Racing Stables (JJRS) ensured that over $2M returned home.In the feature race of the day, the JJRS finished one-two with USA-bred ‘Don’t Over Look’ stormed the field ahead of ‘Vera’s Finally’ for the $1M top prize.Star finished third while TNT finished fourth in the 7¾ furlongs feature race.In an added bit there was a $500 000 bonus for any horse that completed three consecutive victories and this is where Valentina really produced the goods.The three-year-old Guyana-bred, won the race comfortably to earn a total of $900 000 for her owners.Earlier in the day, ‘Ready to Romance’ swept the ‘I’ Class race ahead of Miss Olympic who could place only second.The L-Class Open was easy pickings for ‘Gold Again’ and ‘Touch The Cash’, with the horses finishing one-two.Keep on Swinging It (first) and Red Rocket (second) out of Trinidad and Tobago, were the top horses in the H Class event.The fifth race, a J Class race event saw Miss Olympic cross the finish line first with Red Region (second), Gold (third) and Mary Ann (fourth) all trailing.Signing off the day, was the Non-Earner 1300m event, that saw First Prince of Hyper Active Racing Stables and Upfront finish as the top two horses, while Silver Charm came in third position.The event was sponsored by Jumbo-Jet Auto Sales, Banks DIH Ltd, Randi Persaud Racing Stable (USA), Kris Jagdeo Racing Stables, Trophy Stall, Beesham Singh and Abdul Latiff.last_img
