B’way Grosses: Billy Porter Raises You (and Numbers) Up in Kinky Boots

first_img Kinky Boots Show Closed This production ended its run on April 7, 2019 Kinky Boots will welcome Emmy winner Wayne Brady to the Land of Lola beginning November 20, but before then, Tony winner Billy Porter is keeping the crowd at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre hot as ever. The tuner, which also just celebrated its West End opening night, surpassed the $1 million mark for the first time last week since May and continues its upward climb to hit 100% capacity. We will keep an eye on the Tony-winning musical’s numbers as Porter enters his final weeks and Brady dons the red thigh-highs. Meanwhile, Spring Awakening ended its penultimate week of previews in the bottom five, but we suspect continuing word of mouth and potential glowing reviews (not unlike the original 2006 production) to deliver an uptick.
